AQHA #5485800

14.3 hands

We are so proud to offer you ‚Merle, a 2012 AQHA Dun Roan gelding standing at 14.3 hands. With his unique coloring, Merle is also the perfect size with a stout build, big feet and solid bone. Merle is the definition of a go to horse. He is my pick for everything, whether that be branding, doctoring, starting colts, heading, heeling, ranch horse competitions or just simply a trail ride. He is also the kid's horse. They have taken him to kids rodeos where he has completed trail classes, helping the kids learn to rope and even trotting through the barrel pattern. We turn 3 kids loose with him and have full confidence that he will take care of them. Merle is a fantastic ranch horse which also makes him a dream to ride on the trails. He is smart with his foot placing, as sure footed as they come, will ride in a group or go out alone and crosses water, logs and bridges with ease. In the arena, Merle is also a perfect gentleman, he rides between the bridle reins, spins, slides and is also very smooth. He is a finished head and heel horse that has been hauled and won on. He scores like a rock, runs to cattle and rates, has a great move and face. To heel on, he has a big smooth stop and doesn't budge when he takes the hit. We have hauled him anywhere from #7 to #13 ropings and done both ends on him, he is great in the box and has a lot of speed. He's a perfect gentleman, easy to catch, shoe, bathe and always stays gentle whether you ride him 3 times a year or every day. To top it all off, Merle can lay down on command and side pass over to the fence for you to get on. We cannot speak highly enough about this gelding, he is one of the best horses we have ever had the opportunity to own. About the consignor:

We strive to offer seasoned, safe, sound horses to the public. The horses in our program start out being used on the ranch seeing anything and everything a 5,000 head operation can offer one, gaining a work ethic and a seasoned mind before entering the arena. Once they have proven to be worthy on the ranch we take them to the arena, from reining and cutting to roping or trail riding we strive to season them to where buyers can take them and win on the day after the sale. We guarantee all of our horses 100% sound, sane, and to be exactly what we have in the description.
