2024 ELITE HORSE SALE

FEES, RULES AND REGULATIONS

Location: Queen Creek, Arizona

  • Consignment fee: $500 (Due at time of consignment acceptance.  No exceptions.)

  • Commission: 8%

Consignment fee will cover catalog (online and print), advertising and office fees.

Commission will cover vet check costs, all cattle costs for preview, halters for new owners and sale crew. Commission is due on last bid regardless of no sales, no exceptions.

CONSIGNMENTS OPEN APRIL 1st AND CLOSE OCTOBER 1st, 2023

  • Open to all breeds between the age of five and twelve years old (as of January 1, 2024)

  • Open to all sexes

  • Must have current coggins and health to unload on site

  • Must pass a full vet check (vet check requirements can be seen below)

  • Horses will receive full set of radiographs at time of check in AT OWNERS EXPENSE.  AOTC & 88 EQUINE has a very competitive radiograph package.  All required images will: $600/entry.

  • Owners may send in their own radiographs.  Those must be submitted within 30 days of sale acceptance.  Radiographs must be taken my reputable equine veterinarian.  Radiographs may be rejected due to quality.  

  • All radiographs will be evaluated by Dr. Dallas Shaw.  Horses are subject to sifting at this time.  $500 entry fee will not be refunded if horse is sifted.

  • Horses who require maintenance will not be rejected from the sale unless our repository evaluation or onsite vet deems them unsound regardless of general maintenance.  Any maintenance must be noted on consignment form and WILL be noted in the catalog

  • Vices must be listed (cribbing, pacing, etc) and will be noted in horse’s file

  • Coggins must be current within the past 6 months of sale date.  No coggins tests will be done on sale grounds.  Owners must provide coggins and current health at time of check in

Buy backs/no sales: Commission will be owed on last bid, no exceptions.  Consignors will receive a buyers number upon check in and have the right to protect their horses.  SALE STAFF WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR BUYING HORSES BACK

HORSES WILL REQUIRE A VET RELEASE TO BE SCRATCHED FROM THE SALE AT ANY POINT.  NO SHOWS WILL BE FINED $600

UPDATES FOR 2024 SALE

 

We will continue to be by invite only.  Past consignors are welcome to send in recommendations for new consignors.

 

All photos used in the catalog must be professional quality.  A sale committee will be proofing photos, footnotes, etc. and photos may be subject to rejection.

 

Dr. Dallas Shaw will be offering a package discount on radiographs on all sale horses.  You can wait to get your radiographs taken upon arrival to the sale, but you will have to be checked in on the Tuesday prior to the sale day and are subject to being sifted from the sale.  If you choose to

have your own radiographs taken, they must be done by a reputable equine veterinarian, and all radiographs will have to be submitted to the new repository within 30 days of sale acceptance.  ALL RADIOGRAPHS LISTED MUST BE SUBMITTED.

 

Sale videos are required within 30 days of sale acceptance.  If you do not submit at least one video that can be used as advertisement within 30 days of sale acceptance you will be subject to rejection from the sale. 

 

UPDATED SALE PAYMENT TERMS

$500 consignment/catalog fee must be paid upon acceptance to be 

included in the sale catalog.  Invoices will be e-mailed with sale acceptance lettter

 

We will be doing direct deposits within 7 business days following the sale, but to ensure this happens please make sure and have all wiring information provided when you check into the sale.  A form will be provided at check in, so please have your bank info, account number and wiring instructions available at that time.

ADDITIONAL CONSIGNMENT, PHOTO AND VIDEO INFORMATION

 

 

  • All potential consignors must submit a consignment form 

  • Consignors must submit video with consignment form.  This does not have to be video used in advertising

  • ALL catalog information and photos must be confirmed by November 1st, NO EXCEPTIONS

  • PROFESSIONAL QUALITY photos and at least one advertising video must be submitted within 30 days of sale acceptance.  Failure to provide photos & video by this date will result in losing your entry in the sale.  All deadline dates will be included in your sale acceptance e-mail

  • Please make sure ALL information listed in consignment form is current and accurate.  This info WILL be used in the sale catalog and pulled directly from the spreadsheet generated by the form.

  • SUBMITTING A CONSIGNMENT FORM DOES NOT GUARENTEE SALE ACCEPTANCE

 

Photo requirements: 

Photos must be professional quality.  If you would like a list of photographers by state, please let us know.  

 

Video requirements:

Please provide youtube or vimeo links, or e-mail videos to mesa@artofthecowgirl.com

Videos must show horses at a walk, trot, lope, stop and backing.  Video must also contain cattle work of any kind (roping, cutting, ranch work, etc)

Consignors will have access to Art of the Cowgirl Elite Horse & Working Cowdog Sale Facebook group .  When posting please refrain from using phrases such as “he sells” or “available to purchase,” as Facebook will shut the group down.

CATALOG PHOTO GUIDELINES:

 

CATALOG PHOTO DEADLINE IS NOVEMBER 1st, 2023. NO EXCEPTIONS

 

Photos must have no foreign objects in the background

 

Horses should be groomed.  If saddled in photos, tack should be clean.

 

Minimum of two photos will be used in the catalog.  One must be a side profile view.  Other photos can be action, head shots or opposite side profile view.

 

 

 

REQUIRED FOR ALL HORSES

  • Radiographs will be required on all horses and will be taken upon check in to the sale.

YOUR HORSE WILL NOT BE SIFTED DUE TO GENERAL MAINTENANCE.  SIFTING WILL RESULT ONLY IF OUR LICENSED VETERINARIAN WHO VIEWS THE IMAGES CANNOT PASS THE HORSE BASED ON THE RADIOGRAPHS ALONE.  We have worked hard to develop a sale with complete transparency, and we know that horses with this amount of training, age and use will not always x-ray perfectly. It is our duty as sale representatives to provide all known information on each horse.  It is the buyers responsibility to educate themselves prior to bidding.
